"That's what they do in Argentina. Have a little wine and talk. Then have a little coffee and talk. Then go back to the wine." - Grace Jones
You don't hear a whole lot about Uruguay and it is certainly much more low key than its neighbours, but I was very curious to go and visit this black sheep of the South American family.
A big sprawling European city in the heart of South America, Buenos Aires is a mixed bag of grit and glamour, old and new. It is a city you get to know, not by star attractions and famous monuments, but by exploring its neighbourhoods....
There is much more to Buenos Aires than just the Capital Federal area so if you’re staying for more than a few days then we can highly recommend taking a day trip to one of these excellent destinations...

Lucky you! You’re planning a trip to Buenos Aires! And what a genius idea that is because you’re about to discover a fabulous city. Today was a good day. It started with a leisurely meander through the streets of Balvanera, Buenos Aires and is ending in a ménage à trois. A romantic tryst between myself, a most spectacular glass (ok, bottle) of Argentine Chardonnay and the irresistible Carlos Gardel.
Looking for a quick and easy way to see the best of Buenos Aires? The good news is there’s a hop on hop off bus tour that drops you at all of Buenos Aires’ must see attractions!
One of the great natural wonders of the world and one of most well known and visited attractions in Latin America, the Iguazú Falls are not to be missed. If I am honest I was really only luke-warm about making the detour to visit the falls but in the end they turned out to be one of my greatest experiences in South America so far.
